China to fund the Rwandan army marine Regiment

The Chinese Government will fund the Marine Regiment for Rwanda defence forces in order to improve its capabilities - a large military cooperation agreement between Beijing and Kigali, RNA reports.

Visit of the Minister of Defence General James Kabarebe and Chinese counterpart Liang Guanglie finalized a significant military cooperation Friday - finding a trip of 5 days of the Rwandan delegation agreement.

The agreement signed Friday contains a protocol whereby the Chinese give Rwanda a grant to build a dock floating to the regiment of the marin.Aucun details are given in the Declaration of the Chinese Ministry of defence, but it might be reference to the establishment of marine capacity on Lake Kivu and Muhazi.

"Ministers committed themselves to deepen and to expand military cooperation by opening new areas of cooperation such as research and development, increased military visits and exchange programs," said the statement.

Recent years have seen accelerated development of links between the two pays.Et China said that it attached great importance to the development of links with the Rwandan army soldiers.

The two armies are involved in peace-keeping operations in Sudan.
