A teenage boy has been charged in connection to a brutal attack on a four-year-old girl near Peterborough, Ont.
On Oct. 18., the little girl was taken from a washroom in the Woodville, Ont. She was later found in a wooded area with serious injuries.
A 17-year-old boy, who can not be legally named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault, forcible confinement and abduction, Ontario Provincial Police said.
The accused is being held for a bail hearing and will appear in court to answer the charges Thursday morning in Lindsay, Ont.
The court has issued a publication ban in relation to the proceedings.
"The OPP would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this case," said Const. Victoria Fisher is a written statement. "The OPP is also reminding the public to be aware of their personal safety and that of their children at all times."
